Adding yet another installment to their ongoing collaboration, del Amo and Long conceived ‘Benched’ as two intertwining solos, performed in a restricted space, in direct proximity to each other. The piece took its inspiration from a series of sitting positions as observed on TV, during sporting games, court room dramas and talk shows. Reconfiguring those moments in surprising ways and transposing them into an idyllic park environment, ‘Benched’ offered a surreal and evocative viewing experience.
